April-May & August-October 2014, Tanzania, MCC (USA) Support to Electricity Infrastructure
Development-Social Inclusion-Pro-poor tariffs, new projects and M&E of existing Program: Produced
Gender Appraisal and Integrated Social Inclusion recommendations into Energy Infrastructure Service
Provision plan to ensure socially inclusive access. Provided opportunities and challenges framework for
funding interventions. Also supported Social Impact Component to IFC standards. The Social
Inclusion/Gender Aware Access to Energy is to support micro-enterprises through capacity building,

January-March 2014, Ghana, MCC (USA) Gender Mainstreaming Support to Electricity Infrastructure
Development: Produced Institutional Assessment,Gender Equity Appraisal and Integrated Social Inclusion
into Service Provision, pro poor tariff and planning to ensure socially inclusive energy development in
Ghana. Provided M&E framework for recommended interventions. The Gendered Assessment of Energy
Services Delivery resulted in the production of recommendations for support by USA Gov. Donor Agency
including the development of markets for women entrepreneurs.
August-September 2013, Start up Activities for the Evaluation of Gender and Development Policy
Advancement for United Nations (FAO) Tasks included FAO gender literature review and UN Health and
Safety Examinations/assessment for Field work in crises/conflict zones-M&E of FAO Gender Policy.
April-May 2013, Azerbaijan, Asian Development Bank funded Road Infrastructure Development,
Monitoring and Evaluation of Social Safeguards in local communities, including resettlement issues on
construction of Silk Road upgrade and development. Tasks includepublic consultations,MonitoringReport
production & capacity development. This planning mission produced Work Strategy for 9 months
construction support.
June-December 2012-Mozambique, Energy Development, Anadarko Produced Community Investment
Plan (to IFC Standards) for the Company’s CSR with outline of Community Development Projects for the
LNG Project to extract gas and build an LNG plant with minimal conflict/best practice CSR in local
Communities. Assignment included capacity building and emphasis on gender inclusive facilitation of access
to social services, water, sanitation, education and credit and technical support for women-led SMEs.
February-May 2012, Bulgaria, Holland-Gazprom/South Stream Black Sea Gas Transport Project to IFC
Standards Drafted the Community Investment Strategy; Directed the Public Consultation plan for project
affected countries to World Bank IFC & European Bank Social Performance Standards. Produced
Consultation Strategy to address past conflict with ‘Relationship Building’ initiatives.

Conducted a social inclusion and gender analysisof livelihoods reinstatement activities with gender equal

sustainable development included design of systems to secure cash & training on access to resettlement
compensation at household & community level (i.e. social inclusion). Socio-Economic Survey &

October 2008, Guinea/Liberia Iron Ore Mine Project – Supported Community Engagement Plan (UK desk
based for post conflict implementation) following company and IFC extractive industry guidelines to be
used as part of the ESIA of the Nimba Mountains mining project.

Infrastructure Development (part of MCC) Airport upgrade and harbor development; included social
impact, stakeholder engagement, livelihood assessments, eco-tourism and SME development.

Industries; post-coup/conflict World Bank Standard National Government and local level consultations for
Social Impact Assessment, infrastructure development (road, rail and housing). Trained Mauritanian

Social and consultation lead in survey of conditions and impacts of migration/refugees, community needs
and livelihoods assessment for Post Conflict infrastructure investments- education, water/sanitation &
roads infrastructure with livelihoods development. Included extensive consultations at community &
government levels, as well as with UN development partners to co-ordinate infrastructure development
for integrated post conflict stabilization and sustainable development of DRC.

Assessment SIA & Resettlement Action Plan (to World Bank/IFC & AfDB standards) SIA in forests,
mountains, deltas, deserts and in diverse communities from south Nigeria to north Algeria traveling from
Niger Delta, across the Sahara desert. Surveys of agricultural & market communities, with desert nomads
and settled farmers examining, water, health, education infrastructure and livelihood/business status.

Kenya Environmental Resources Management — a DFID/World Bank Project As Social Team Lead
facilitated inclusion of social development in Kenya’s poverty reduction strategy with emphasis on gender
in Poverty Reduction Strategy specifically for infrastructure provision — water, energy, education
services. Uganda Rural Non-Farm Community Development — a DFID/World Bank Partnership based in
Uganda, Malawi and India. As Social Team Leader duties were:
• Identify shortfall & guide new directives, appoint staff and manage team surveys/fieldtrips
• Identify partners, agree working roles, issue contracts and influence strategies
• Design methodologies and train staff in community development methods
• Analyze data, synthesize information and communicate findings and recommendations.
The United Nations Development Program/GEF - Lake Tanganyika Biodiversity Project (Burundi,
Tanzania, Congo, Zambia). As the Socio-Economic Co-ordinator/Team Leader duties were to:
• Providesocial impact advice for Lake management across borders for the Strategic Action Plan based
on an 18 month Social-economic investigation (22 reports across 4 countries in English and French)

Sustainable Environmental Management, Water Provision and Urban Agriculture — a European Union
