My presentation today will discuss about my study, which is Comparing the Effectiveness of Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release between Idiopathic and Long-term Hemodialysis Patients: A Prospective Study
After operation, we evaluate the response by several ways, subjectively, we not only assess the symptoms relief but also functional recovery by using Hi-Ob scale and two kinds of Questionnaires, Quick DASH and Boston …Q to compare the response before and after operation. Besides, we collect the electrophysiological data to provide an objective evaluation of the effectiveness of surgery.

Hi-Ob scale the abbreviation of Historical- Objective scale which decide its scoring by clinical finding, mostly by patients’ statements about their symptoms
About the statistical analysis, we use SPSS 13th version and use nonparametric testing for limited case number, each group we use wilcoxon signed rank rest to compare Hi-ob scale and questionnaire scores before and after operation. Then we use Mann Whiney U test to find out the differences of scores of two groups, in two time points, pre op and post op. And we take P value lower than zero point zero five as significant differences exist.
