Diana Childress
VP Strategic Initiatives, Pearson/BSA Partnership
Diana Childress is the vice president of strategic initiatives at Pearson for the
Boy Scouts of America partnership. Since January 2014, “Di” has been a daily
presence in the national headquarters and a regular attendee at many BSA
events, such as the National Annual Meeting and Top Hands. As a member of
the Pearson/BSA partnership team, Di works closely with BSA leadership to
help enable change by bringing innovation, process improvement, and new
publishing models and technologies to the organization, allowing the BSA to
transform programs and operations to better fulfill its mission.
“Our team here in Irving, Texas, works hand in hand with their BSA program
leaders every day. We leverage our diverse expertise to bring fresh
perspectives to the design and development of Scouting programs and
materials, helping the team make them more relevant, interactive, and
collaborative.”
“Currently we are focused on making all BSA content agile and digital,
opening new channels of delivery so the BSA can reach more young people
and streamline operations. But the real value lies in helping the Boy Scouts
achieve its mission: improving the lives of future leaders of this country by
combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun.”
Before joining the Pearson/BSA partnership team, Diana worked for
Blackboard Inc. as vice president, business development and content
strategy, where she established an industry-changing content distribution
paradigm for publishers, digital media companies, and emerging content
providers. Prior to Blackboard, Diana held many senior, strategic leadership
roles at companies such as Harcourt Brace, The Dryden Press, and
Macmillan, as well as firms on the forefront of digital and online learning
transformation, such as ProQuest, Gale, and VCampus Corporation.
