We have one sectionstill available.ItisWednesdaySept.30 @ 3:10pm, Engr 101 section9 (1016
Coover).
We ask that each representative talk about:
a. Their company and products in terms of more than just engineered parts.
b. Need for creativity, problem solving skills and inquisitive technical expertise.
c. Need for communicative and teamwork oriented people that understand how to
interact with a variety of cultures and personalities.
We ask that representatives also consider touching on the following topics (if time):
d. Students need understanding of business cycles and customer/product
relationships.
e. Students need understanding of technology as a societal tool that has many uses
and abuses.
f. Understanding of professional ethics and propriety rights.
g. Understanding of the rapidly changing technological world.
Here are the logistics of the industry panels:
1. Each class is made up of approximately 40-50 students. There are 6 sections of freshman
students and two section of transfer students. We hope to have 3-6 industry reps (each
from different companies) in each class session for a panel discussion.
2. The conversation and environment is very relaxed. Instructors have students prepare
questions ahead of time to keep the conversation flowing, however, the conversation is
usually made up on the spot as students and representatives interact.
