On Friday, January 20th , senior director Derek DiGiacomo, representing the Society of Cable
Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and the International Society of Broadband experts
(ISBE), visited the Avionics & Robotics and Sustainable Energy Engineering students.
The SCTE provides training programs, sets and influences technical standards, and develops
events for the cable and telecommunication industries. Mr. DiGiacomo is a resource for
information on green technology and was recently interviewed by COMMSCOPE.com. His topic
was “Let’s Talk Green Energy: Q&A with SCTE’s Derek DiGiacomo”.
During Mr. DiGiacomo’s visit, he presented an overview of the SCTE, ISBE. Also, he discussed
new energy trends, and had an activity dealing with environmental concerns. Mr. DiGiacomo’s
presentation was engaging, thought-provoking and awesome for our students.
