If people in Britain really apply themselves to
the task, how good could life become by 2035?
What BHAGs should be highlighted, as
national targets to achieve by 2035?
And what interim steps should be
envisioned for, say, 2025?

Can a significantly better society be built, whilst
human nature remains essentially unchanged?
Abuse of power Deception & self-deception Tribalism & nepotismCognitive biases
Human nature can’t change much (or shouldn’t change
much) so social policy needs to beware human weaknesses
Human nature can and will improve as society
becomes less unfair and less focused on superficial goods
Human nature can and must change, to ensure a better
society can arise; new technology can assist this project

2. The fraction of people with mental health
problems will be 1% or less
The rationale: Too many people nowadays suffer from deep
depression, anxiety, loneliness, mood swings, and suicidal
tendencies. This directly reduces the quality of their experiences.
It also causes social strains due to ill-judged actions arising from
disturbed mental processing. Mental ill-health often leads on to
behaviour that is fanatical, fundamentalist, criminal,
socially divisive, and/or self-harming.

Cryonics will increase the chance of people being able to resume
