1. David is from Burley, Idaho (if you know the area, he went to Declo schools), but was born in
Rexburg shortly before his parents moved to Cassia County. He grew up on the country and
learned how to work hard and smart, being the middle of seven kids...barely by two minutes...he
has a twin brother. He grew up spending a lot of time in the outdoors; summers fishing at
Henry's Lake, water tubing on the snake river of his grandparent's property in Burley, camping,
hunting, rock climbing at City of Rocks, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiles, riding
ATVs, backpacking...the list goes on. He will throw up for 7 hours on a boat while fishing if it
means he can eat seafood for the rest of the week.
He also enjoys food. ALL OF THE KINDS. He is an amazing chef. If you ever get a chance to
try something he cooks or bakes, you need to take it.
David also lives for sports. His first love was baseball, then tennis for a short minute. He started
playing soccer in high school, but decided to take a fun soccer class his first semester at BYUI
where we met. Soccer was what first bonded our friendship and encouraged him to ask me on
our first date, then gave us an excuse to spend gobs of time together. He also enjoys football
and basketball and is pretty good for a shorty. He served a mission in Alabama where he'd play
basketball (A LOT) with the boys in the ghetto. He and his companion even bartered winning a
game to teach a discussion to some young teens. They won (pretty good for a couple of white
boys). His mission helped shape his testimony and to develop love for all kinds of people and
personalities. He is very approachable, easy to talk to and be friends with, and one of the most
patient, tolerant, and forgiving people I know.
David and I have been married for 7 years in October, and moved 13 times within the first 3
years. We've lived in 4 places in Rexburg, 4 places in Centerville (Virginia) selling pest control
(3 summers), Oklahoma City (Oklahoma), Boise a couple times (Idaho), Burley...and we've
loved Rexburg the most. We don't have children yet but someday we plan on them both
biologically and through adoption even though the process might be long and difficult.
David owns his own small business but is excited to graduate, move, and start working as an
electrical engineer in January. He wants to focus on product development and sales
engineering, and currently works for a company in town building 3-D printers. One day we want
to settle down on some land (at least 10 acres) and have a small hobby farm somewhere in
Idaho with our family and do all the things he loves.
