Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).
AI Trends in Creative Operations 2024 by Artwork Flow.pdfmarketingartwork
Creative operations teams expect increased AI use in 2024. Currently, over half of tasks are not AI-enabled, but this is expected to decrease in the coming year. ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool currently. Business leaders are more actively exploring AI benefits than individual contributors. Most respondents do not believe AI will impact workforce size in 2024. However, some inhibitions still exist around AI accuracy and lack of understanding. Creatives primarily want to use AI to save time on mundane tasks and boost productivity.
Organizational culture includes values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits that influence employee behaviors and how people interpret those behaviors. It is important because culture can help or hinder a company's success. Some key aspects of Netflix's culture that help it achieve results include hiring smartly so every position has stars, focusing on attitude over just aptitude, and having a strict policy against peacocks, whiners, and jerks.

Google's Just Not That Into You: Understanding Core Updates & Search IntentLily Ray
1. Core updates from Google periodically change how its algorithms assess and rank websites and pages. This can impact rankings through shifts in user intent, site quality issues being caught up to, world events influencing queries, and overhauls to search like the E-A-T framework.
2. There are many possible user intents beyond just transactional, navigational and informational. Identifying intent shifts is important during core updates. Sites may need to optimize for new intents through different content types and sections.
3. Responding effectively to core updates requires analyzing "before and after" data to understand changes, identifying new intents or page types, and ensuring content matches appropriate intents across video, images, knowledge graphs and more.

SHAZAM Fury of the Gods.
Shazam Fury of the Gods is a 2023 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Shazam. The movie is produced by New Line
Cinema, DC films, and the Safran Company, and released by Warner Bros.
It was directed by David F. Sandberg, produced by Peter Safran, and written by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan. Billy Batson and his foster
siblings are pitted against the Daughters of Atlas in the movie.
We all have a superhero within us; all it takes is a little magic to bring it out. In the case of 14-year-old Billy Batson, all he has to do is say one
word to transform into the adult superhero Shazam. Shazam who is still a child at heart, enjoys the new version of himself by doing what any other
adolescent would do. Let us start the movie now.
In the winter of 1974, in upstate New York, a young Thaddeus Sivana is in the car with his father (John Glover) and older brother Sid, playing
Magic ball 8. When Sid takes Thad's toy away, the two make fun of him. Strange symbols begin to appear on the ball after Thad reclaims it. Thad
finds himself in the Rock of Eternity without Sid or Mister Sivana Thad is greeted by the Wizard (Djimon Hounsou), who summoned him. The
Wizard tells Thad about an old group of wizards he was a part of that discovered a champion who would inherit great powers, but first he must pass
a test.
On the wall next to Thad are large monstrous statues of the Seven Deadly Sins, evil creatures who wish to wreak havoc on mankind. They speak to
Thad and tempt him to take an orb known as The Eye in order for Thad to gain even more power. Thad is then stopped by the Wizard, who declares
him unworthy of these powers and sends him back to the car. Mister Sivana swerves and nearly collides with a truck as Thad begins to yell about
2. what he saw. While he is berating his son, another car collides with the Sivanas, ejecting Mr.Sivana from the vehicle. Sid blames Thad for what
happened after he survives but is crippled.
Present Day - 15-year-old Billy Batson (Asher Angel) dupes a pair of cops into responding to a shop robbery, only to lock them in the store and
look up information on a woman named Rachel Batson, whom he believes to be his long-lost mother. Billy arrives at the address with a small
compass, prompting a flashback to his childhood and the last time he saw his mother. Billy was separated from his mother at a carnival, but she
never went to claim him when the police found him. Billy approaches the door and is greeted by a woman who is obviously not his mother. The
police then arrive and arrest Billy.
The police then arrive and Billy meets with Miss Glover (Andi Osho), a social worker, who discusses his history of getting into trouble and running
away from multiple foster homes, none of which would accept him back. She sympathizes with his search for his mother, but warns him that he
only has one more chance before he ends up somewhere even worse. Ms. Glover matches Billy with Victor and Rosa Vasquez (Cooper Andrews
and Marta Milans), a couple who care for five other foster children. Billy would accompany them.
They bring Billy home and introduce him to the children- Eugene Choi (Ian Chen), a video game nerd; Darla Dudley (Faithe Herman), a sweet little
girl who immediately (and literally) embraces Billy as her new brother; Pedro Pena (Jovan Armand), a quiet kid that doesn't really talk to anyone;
Mary Bromfield (Grace Fulton), an aspiring college student; and Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer), a superhero nerd who uses a cane to walk.
He speaks with Billy and shows him some of his memorabilia, including an authentic bullet that hit Superman and a Batarang.
Billy goes to school with the other kids that day. Darla hugs him as he walks to class, but he tells her they are not brothers and sisters, which
saddens her and makes him regret it.
Dr. Sivana (now played by Mark Strong) attends an interview with his scientist Dr. Lynn Crosby (Lotta Lotsen) and another woman who claims to
have been taken to the Rock of Eternity as well. Several other people have sent videos detailing their encounters with The Wizard and what they
saw. Sivana has been looking for a way back to the Rock of Eternity for years, but he only recently discovered a pattern. He demonstrates to Crosby
3. that the same symbols appear and repeat in the same order every time. Crosby dismisses them after drawing them on a door and taps it, which opens
a portal and causes Crosby to disintegrate. Sivana enters through the door and returns to the Rock of Eternity. He confronts The Wizard and
expresses his disdain for his rejection as a child, as well as his desire for a different power. He takes The Eye, which then lodges itself in Sivana's
right eye. This frees the Seven Deadly Sins, who take refuge in The Eye and claim Sivana as their champion. Sivana defeats The Wizard and flees
to exact his vengeance.
After school, the bully Bryer brothers, Burke (Evan Marsh) and Brett, run over Freddy with their truck (Carson MacCormac). Billy walks away
from the bullies as they continue to kick Freddy and pick on him. Eventually, the attackers start making fun of Freddy's lack of parents. Before the
other foster children arrive to step in, Billy takes Freddy's cane and hits the Bryers in the head. Billy flees and the Bryers pursue him till he escapes
in a subway. The weird symbols reappear as everyone in the metro abruptly disappears. Billy meets The Wizard when he is currently at the Rock of
Eternity.
He's run out of options and believes Billy is the only one worthy of his powers. He tells Billy that he and the other wizards passed their powers on
to their champion, but he used his powers for evil, creating the Seven Deadly Sins, who killed many innocent people. If Sivana releases them again,
they will most likely destroy humanity. The Wizard orders Billy to grip his staff and say his name...SHAZAM! After doing so, Billy is struck by
lightning and transformed into the adult superhero Shazam (Zachary Levi). He possesses Solomon's wisdom, Hercules' strength, Atlas' stamina,
Zeus' power, Achilles' courage, and Mercury's speed. After telling Billy that he must be the champion, the Wizard turns to dust.
When Billy fails to appear, the Vasquezes become concerned. He sneaks around as Shazam and convinces Freddy to come outside and prove his
identity. Freddy is amazed and excited, and they go around the city testing out Shazam's powers. They pass by the park and witness a mugging.
Shazam rushes over to the mugger, but he has already been defeated by the woman he attempted to rob because she carries mace. They return home
and, after failing to sneak past Victor and Rosa, take refuge in Darla's room, where she encounters Shazam. He returns to Billy after saying his own
name. Darla is then told by the boys to keep this a secret.
4. Sivana goes to his father's corporation, where he is in a meeting with the board of directors, which includes Sid. Sivana demonstrates his newfound
powers by grabbing Sid and throwing him out the window to his death after yet another cold dismissal from the two of them. He then unleashes the
Sins, who proceed to murder all of the other board members, leaving Mr. Sivana for last. He begs his son for mercy, but Sivana accuses him of
greed and accuses him of being the one crying for help. Sivana, predictably, lets Greed finish off his father.
Billy transforms into Shazam once more and travels around the city with Freddy to put his powers to the test. He can't seem to master flying, but he
is super strong, fast, and possesses lightning powers. Freddy videotapes everything, and Shazam goes viral. The two make a pit stop at a
convenience store so Shazam can buy beer (which the boys discover they don't like), but then a robbery begins. Shazam attempts to stop it and is
shot, but the bullet bounces off him, indicating that he is bulletproof. The robbers are then tied up and thrown out of the store. He even has fun with
his abilities at school, using his strength to wreck the Bryers' truck.
After being taunted once more by the Bryers, Freddy informs them and the other students that Shazam will appear during lunch. Instead, Billy goes
off to do superhero stuff, leaving Freddy to be humiliated when he fails to show up. Later, Freddy encounters Shazam in the streets, flaunting his
lightning powers, and confronts him for being a bad friend and using his powers to be a jerk. Shazam then zaps the tires of a bus, causing it to crash
over the edge of a bridge. Shazam, still unsure of how to fly, waits for the bus to fall so he can catch it and set it down. Despite causing the incident,
he is still regarded as a hero for saving them. Freddy then abandons Shazam, and the hero is soon discovered by Sivana. He demonstrates his power
over Shazam, and the villain tosses him around the city before dragging him up into the sky and dropping him. Sivana moves their brawl into a
shopping mall, but Shazam escapes by saying his name and vanishing as Billy. Freddy dashes into the mall, calling for Billy, but Sivana notices and
then notices a TV screen with an earlier news report featuring Freddy speaking with Shazam. Sivana then pursues the boy.
Billy is walking down the street when he notices a young woman about to be hit by a car. He Shazams himself and flies in to save the woman, who
later reveals herself to be Mary. She is upset because she recently received a college acceptance letter but is hesitant because she is unsure if she
wants to leave her home. Shazam tries to reassure her, but accidentally calls her Mary and mentions that she came from a foster home. Mary begins
to suspect when he leaves.
5. Billy returns home and is chastised by Victor for fleeing and involving Freddy in his problems. The kids enter Billy's room after being left alone.
Pedro discovered Billy's notebook, which detailed all the women he searched for as his mother, but Eugene tracked Billy's parents down and
discovered that his father is in prison and his mother, Marilyn (Caroline Palmer), is only two subway stops away. Billy sets out to find her. The kids
then watch a news report featuring Freddy and Shazam. Mary and Eugene deduce from the evidence that Billy is Shazam, which Darla confirms.
Freddy returns home, but this time he is accompanied by Sivana.
Billy shows up at Marilyn's apartment to say hello. She doesn't recognize him and is both surprised and relieved to see Billy when he tells her he is
her son. Marilyn then admits that she did look for Billy when he became lost, but when she saw him with the cops, she thought he was better off
with them because she was only 17 and had been kicked out by her parents while Billy's father was not present. Billy, realizing she never cared for
him, gives her the compass toy he won her, and he walks away brokenhearted. Billy then receives a phone call from Freddy, but Sivana answers,
and he realizes his siblings are in danger.
Shazam discovers the foster children being held captive at a carnival by Sivana and the Sins. Sivana orders Shazam to give up his powers or the
Sins will begin killing the children, beginning with Darla. Shazam is ready to do so and goes for Sivana's staff, but then he recalls The Wizard's
words and is inspired to fulfill his heroic potential. He takes Sivana's staff and instructs the other kids to place their hands on it while yelling
"SHAZAM!" " After that, the children transform into adult superheroes" (Freddy played by Adam Brody, Darla played by Meagan Good, Mary
played by Michelle Borth, Eugene played by Ross Butler, and Pedro played by DJ Cutrona). Recognizing the need to separate the Sins from
Sivana's eye in order to deprive him of his power, they have Sivana attack them while they fight the Sins as they cause havoc on the carnival. While
Shazam battles Sivana, who still has Envy in his eye, the heroes save the patrons. Shazam taunts Envy to get him to come out, and the Sin angrily
jumps out to attack Shazam, causing the floating Sivana to fall over the edge of a building, hanging on for dear life. Shazam transforms into Billy to
free Envy, but then transforms back into his hero form to catch Sivana before he falls to his death. He drags the villain along and convinces the
others to join him in the Rock of Eternity. Shazam then pulls the Eye from Sivana, causing the Sins to revert to their statue forms.
6. When the siblings return home, they are hailed as mysterious superheroes. Billy eventually joins the family for dinner and even says grace to them,
having accepted them as his new family. Back at school, Freddy sits alone at lunch, shunned by his classmates, until Mary, Darla, Eugene, and
Pedro join him. Shazam then enters the cafeteria and astounds everyone, including the Bryers. He sits next to Freddy and refers to him as his best
friend while also displaying his special guest...SUPERMAN.
Teenage Billy Batson, who has been separated from his mother since he was a youngster, moves about from one foster home to the next. Victor and
Rosa Vasquez, together with their other adopted children Freddy, Mary, Darla, Eugene, and Pedro, still offer him a chance.
Billy is summoned to the Rock of Eternity to meet The Wizard, who grants him ancient powers to become the champion Shazam, transforming
Billy into an adult superhero. Freddy discovers the truth, and the two decide to have fun pretending to be heroes. But The Wizard bestowed upon
him the abilities to stop Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, a man who was almost chosen as a child to inherit the powers before becoming corrupted and
obsessed with unleashing the Seven Deadly Sins, monstrous creatures that seek to destroy mankind.
The foster children help Billy find his mother, Marilyn, but she reveals that she abandoned him because she didn't feel prepared to care for a child
and thought he would be better off without her.
Meanwhile, Sivana discovers Shazam's true identity and holds the children hostage until Billy agrees to relinquish his powers. Billy, on the other
hand, decides to share the ability with the other children, who all transform into superheroes and battle the Seven Deadly Sins. The Sins are once
again imprisoned in the Rock of Eternity after they defeat Sivana and destroy his mighty eye, which grants the Sins freedom.
Although Sivana meets an alien caterpillar named Mr. Mind in jail who offers to help him get the power he wants, Billy stays with his new foster
family permanently.
