Daily Water
Intake
WaterIntake(Cups)
My daily recommended water intake (male older than 19),
according to healthline.com, I should be drinking 13 cups of
water (104oz). They also recommend that if one exercises they
should add an additional 1.5 to 2.5 cups of water to their daily
intake for 1 hour of exercise.
From looking at my daily water intake for a month's period of time
I clearly don't drink enough water. My average daily water intake
for the whole month was 6.72 cups.
Daily Water Intake for a Month
Technology Use
I recorded my daily internet use for a month's period of time for
both my desktop and mobile use. The way I recorded this data
was by categorizing my web browser history into two groups,
School and Entertainment use.
Towards the beginning of the month I browsed the internet on my
desktop for my personal entertainment more than I used it for
school. At times though my internet use for school increased to
equal or exceed that of use for entertainment and towards the
end of the month I really focused my internet use for school.
My browser history for my mobile is much more simple than that
of my desktop use. I hardly use my phone for school use and
when I do it is mostly to check my school email, My UVU, and
canvas in order to check assignment due dates. The mobile use
for entertainment though is hard to show because of the
numerous apps that are used for entertainment like all of the
social media apps that one would see in their browser history on
the desktop.
Overall I would say that I am not in the norm because I
typically use my desktop more than my mobile devices.
When it comes to just browsing the internet I do use my
mobile devices but from the scatter charts above there
are times that I clearly use my desktop way more.
Other than browsing the internet, I use my desktop for
design work and video games which I never do on my
mobile devices. I also don't use social media very often,
which is what I feel most people use their mobile devices
for now days.

Daily Water Intake vs.
Technology Use
Does the use of technology directly influence my daily water
intake?
From looking at this data the simple answer is no. This data
shows that my daily water intake is actually pretty random when
compared to my technology use. There are days of high
technology use and I drink a lot but there are also days of high
technology use where I don't drink a lot. The same goes for the
days of low technology use. My daily water intake is influenced
by something other than my technology use.
