I joined Lucas at the age of 15 and have worked in the construction industry since 1982. Throughout the 1980's I worked at all levels on site starting initially as a labourer before becoming a trainee operative eventually achieving a City & Guilds in my chosen trade of Painting & Decorating. My desire to progress saw me become a site foreman through to the role of contracts manager which was a turning point in my career. Having gained much experience running big projects I became a director and shareholder of Lucas in 1990 and with the solid team I had built, the company began attracting major clients securing projects such as MI5's HQ in London and the new Glaxo Campus in Stevenage badg...
