president’s Eurasia & Africa Sustainability
Awards summit, now in its seventh year,
provides an important opportunity for the
company to celebrate outstanding
achievements of Coca-Cola bottling partners
across the region. The awards recognize how
a shared commitment to sustainability lies at
the very heart of the company's growth
strategy and this year's theme was One
System, One Purpose.
Nairobi Bottlers Limited of Kenya, came away
from the ceremony held in Istanbul, Turkey,
with the Excellence Award for communities
(WE) for the Central East & West Africa
business unit. The award recognizes and
rewards Nairobi Bottlers for their efforts to
empower women and youth through various
initiatives, such as 5by20 and YES Hub, and
for their positive contribution to the
communities in which the company operates.
The purpose of the awards is to encourage
bottling partners, plant operators and business
unit managers to continually improve their
performance in accordance with the Quality,
Environment and Occupational Safety and
Health requirements of The Coca-Cola
Company. It further serves a strengthened
alignment between the bottling partners and
business units on a global sustainability
strategy and the Me-We-World framework
towards prioritizing and embedding
sustainability in all aspects of the business
culture.
