Wathwood Staff Library
DynaMed Plus is a point of care tool, that gives
you access to quick and reliable summaries of
clinical topics. Its frequently updated overviews
include NHS guidelines. It is easy to use and can
be accessed on your PC or mobile. You can keep
up to date with your speciality using “Recent
Updates”. Alongside condition and treatment
options there are patient leaflets. It is simple to
use but library staff will be happy to give you a
demonstration. It is
available on the library
pages of Connect or on your
OpenAthens login.
Some of you may have noted changes to the look of
the Staff Library Catalogue or been asked to confirm
your e-mail of preference. We have been busy
working on bringing you greater functionality on the
Staff Library Catalogue. You will now be able to
login, check your loans and renew items on the
system.
These options are available
by clicking on the keyboard
icon . You can login using
your OpenAthens account.
Should you not have an
account it is easy to set up.
Go to the link below. For help
with any problems you have with this you can e-mail

OpenAthens is the login that gives you the key to e-books, online papers and clinical tools. Now you can
renew your library books with it too. By setting up an account you create one username and password
to do all this. You can set up an account by completing an online form.

When you set up your account, choosing the right organisation will enable your
account to be set up more quickly. For the trust select “Nottinghamshire
Healthcare NHS FT” from the drop down menu.
For best results and access to all the features use the web browser Chrome.

Finding the evidence
KnowledgeShare

Our new current awareness service is
KnowledgeShare. This works by sending out
current awareness e-mails or Updates. These
e-mails cover up to date papers and guidelines.
The Updates provide summaries of quality
information tailored to your needs. Meaning
you only read the full text of what is relevant to
you. These e-mails are sent out every two
weeks.
You can sign up to this service online:

Alternatively we have forms available in our staff
libraries. To help us match the Updates to your
needs please provide us with as much detail as
possible in the conditions, professional
interests and setting sections. Should you need

Have you tried our e-books yet?
All you need to ensure access is an OpenAthens
account. Why not browse the titles on the Library
Catalogue by selecting e-books in the advance
search.
There is now a quick way of
accessing all our OpenAthens
resources on trust computers
using a shortcut from the
computers “Start Menu”. The
“Start menu” is accessible by clicking on the
windows logo in the bottom left of your screen.
In the search box you can either enter
OpenAthens or alternatively you can select
“All Programs” and “NottsHC Shortcuts” and the
OpenAthens Shortcut is there. You can even Pin
the Shortcut to your “Start Menu”.
