Full Time Senior Graphic Designer
• Responsible for designing resources in both print and digital formats. This included; designing the initial
concepts from the authors manuscript, drawing illustrations and diagrams, sourcing other imagery and
photo’s, delivering final files for printing and interactive PDFs.
• Working with the editors, authors and the General Manager to ensure the resources meet the high
standard required.
• Responsible for creating advertising material to promote the resources and the User Friendly brand.
• Creating graphics for use in mail chimp email campaigns and social media.
• Uploading and updating website content using the Magento content management system.
1999 to 2007: Powerstore
Powerstore is an appliance, home entertainment and consumer electronics retailer with 9 stores throughout the
South Island.
Retail is fast moving and the requirements are constantly changing which creates a very challenging environment
for a graphic designer. My ability to work through the design process quickly and effectively has often allowed
Powerstore to change direction on a promotion in a short time frame and maintain the quality of the brand.
Senior Graphic Designer
• Responsible for print advertising and brand development.
• Managing team work flow for print advertising, to ensure work is completed to the deadline and to the
standard required.
• Training new advertising team members.
• Redesign and mantain the Powerstore website.

Temporary Advertising Manager
• Managing team work flow for all advertising media.
• Ensuring all Advertising and Marketing work is completed to the deadline and to the standard required.

• Responsible for creating newspaper advertising, in-store posters, merchandising and other promotional
material.
• Developed the company brand by defining use of colour and providing standards for use of the brand
imagery through the promotional material.

• Responsibilities included; Graphic design, desktop publishing, scanning negatives and transparencies to
photo CD and downloading and printing customers computer files.
I enjoy the challenges the graphic design profession offers and aim to continue
developing my career in this area. I have a keen attention to detail and am able to work
well under pressure. I pride myself on being a quick learner and enjoy learning new
graphical techniques. Being successful and enjoying myself while working are my goals.

The Bachelor of Arts Degree allowed me to study other subjects as well. I continued my
interest in Geography by studying Social, Urban Geography and Resource Evaluation and
Planning papers through to 2nd year papers.
I also studied Introduction to Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Introduction to Surveying,
Physics, Algebra and Calculus.
