increased visibility of Seattle PublicSchools"Back-pack"programforyouthatrisk of failinginschool,coordinated
researchwithShorelineCCstudentsandanutritionist tocreate special dietarylistsandbagsto betterserve ouraging
populationaswell asa growinghomelesspopulation.We alsodevelopedspecial dietarybagstobetterserverourHome
Deliveryprogramforclientsunabletoattendourregularservices.We developedculturallyappropriate "ClientIntake"
trainingandsupportingdocumentsforvolunteersandcreatednew positionstoensure the efficientrunningand

The Baby Boutique isa “Free Store”for homelesschildrenprovidingemergencytangible itemssuchasdiapers,infant
formula,clothing,toys,books, andbabygear.
Program Highlights:Clientsservedandshoppingtripsdoubledfrom2006-2010 as we increasedservicesbyofferingone
eveningeachweekand2Saturdayseach month,we increasedthe agesof childrentoinclude ages0-17 upfrom age 10
aftermultiple callsfromsocial service providersandclients,increasedthe numberof timeschildrencouldbe served
each yearfrom4 to 6, donationsdoubleddue tobettercommunicationwiththe publicandthe volunteerprogram
neededtobe restoredfroma core group to over500 annuallywhile the budgetwasactuallytrimmedback.We also
movedfromour temporarylocationtoour permanentone in2008 whichincludedhousingmultiple unique programs
and servicesunderone roof andall of the organizational changes thatincludes.

The White CenterFoodBank providesemergencyfoodservicesandreferralstothousandsof the mosteconomically
depressedindividualsandfamiliesinthe state of Washington.
2. AgencyHighlights:In2004 the foodbankhad beenoperatingnearlythe same forthe 20 yearspriorinone of the most
economicallychallengedhousingprojectsinsouthKingCountythatwasslatedtobecome a new multi-income housing
complex.From2004-2007 we relocatedtoa temporarysite andthento new permanentlocation.Asthe foodbank
movedwe createda culturallyrelevantfoodbankwhichincludedfoodthatmade sense tothe clientelewe served,
informationprovidedinmultiple languages,andavolunteerprogramthatreflectedthe local school districtsreportof
over28 languagesbeingspoken.We increasedhoursof operationandprovidedtwoeveningserviceseachmonth.We
increasedresourcesbycollaboratingwithaconstantlyincreasingbase of donors,mostof whichwere inthe direct
community.We servedover10,000 individualsin2005, todaythe foodbankservesmore than20,000 annually.
