The long awaited Performing Arts and Athletics Center is finally opened. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held yesterday and the grand opening
will follow in the next few weeks. Among those present at the ceremony yesterday were Principal Melissa Jordan, Athletic Director Bob Diefender-
fer, members of the School Board, representatives from Renaissance Architecture and also the division president of the construction company Flintco, Mark Grimes. Mrs. Jordan spoke
on behalf of the students and administration at Deer Creek thanking those involved in building “a facility that matches the caliber of the students here.” Mr. Diefendefer called it “the
crown jewel” of all of the new 17 facilities being constructed as he expressed his gratitude for all those involved in this project. He has visited many high school facilities around the
nation, however, “the functionality of this building is unmatched,” Diefendefer said. Mark Grimes also thanked the school for the opportunity to do this project. The Lady Antlers Vol-
leyball team held the first event in the PAAC last night with a JV and freshmen team win against Heritage Hall. This new facility will serve the Deer Creek community in all arenas.
