Everyone can play music if they are given the chance. Yet scores of people are told that they are tone deaf or talentless and as a result have their own hunger to express themselves through music taken away. Playing music has become a privilege for the few. I’ve been tapping, banging and ‘percussing’ my way through the world ever since I first gained control of my limbs. I didn’t take music at school and didn’t need permission to start. After starting out professionally as a drummer I’ve been facilitating workshops and creating music and rhythmic experiences for groups and individuals for over 15 years.
