JOIN OUR #DEFORESTATIONZERO MOVE-
MENT
Our new #DeforestationZero movement was created to support
our newest “Zero Deforestation Bill”. It’s the easiest way to
spread the importance of our bill, which is to stop at least 90% of
illegal logging by 2020, and eliminating 100% of it by 2030. You
can spread this awareness simply by using our hashtag on Twit-
ter, Facebook, Tumblr or any other social media site available to
you. You can also support by buying one of the t-shirts especial-
ly dedicated to the movement. Do your part and spread the
word to help stop the chopping down of our beloved Amazon
Rainforest. In case you forgot why we need the rainforest: it
helps combat global warming and provides modern and tradi-
tional medicine. We also need it because it produces oxygen.

“Avatar” and “Titanic” director; James Cam-
eron fighting the Belo Monte Dam

James Cameron, director of “Avatar”
and “Titanic”, created a new short
video to combat the completion of
the Belo Monte dam, which would
cause more environmental damage to
the area. The Xingu tribe, one of the
indigenous tribes stands with James
Cameron to stop this dam building
because it will destroy their homes. "If
they build this dam, our children will
die," said one, his eyes painted a fiery
red with seeds from the urucum tree.
"There will be no more fish, no more
hunting," another told the outsider. "I
want my grandchildren to live in
peace," said a third. "The dam will
take that away." James Cameron re-
plied, “We're here to listen to what
you are saying, to hear your concerns
and, because I am a film-maker, to
share this with the outside world," he
said. "We're just here to help in any
way we can." The short film is to
highlight the extensive damages the
dam will create for the environment
so people will not only gain aware-
ness of this particular conflict, but to
become more aware of how problem-
atic humans can be to the environ-
ment.
