Recommendation letter
Dear Sir / Madam,
Ref: CORNé MOGGEE RECOMMANDATION LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT
Mr. Moggee worked as a laboratory assistant from May to September 2013 to a PhD student
(Miss T. de Beer) who is studying under my supervision within the Department of Horticultural
Sciences at Stellenbosch University. He reported to both me and Miss de Beer during the tenure
of his employment.
Under my employment Mr. Moggee ran two laboratory protocols:
1. Spectrophotometric Chlorophyll determination of fresh broccoli samples.
2. HPLC ascorbic acid and glutathione analysis of fresh broccoli samples.
Both these protocols require a high degree of laboratory skill proficiency which Mr Moggee has.
The antioxidant protocol run on the HPLC required a high level of concentration, attention to
detail and excellent and careful pipetting, weighing and processing skills. Mr. Moggee was
selected for the position based on his abilities and on meeting the strict requirements that we
required for the candidate.
He has a friendly personality and got on with everyone in the laboratory during this time. He was
punctual and gave feedback on his work on a regular basis.
Mr. Moggee would be an asset to any laboratory team.
Yours sincerely,
