We would like to invite you to
celebrate the Chinese New Year
with us with a classical Chinese
New Year concert by the Shanghai Chi-
nese Orchestra at the Oosteroort
(Trompsingel 27, Groningen) in Gron-
ingen on Wednesday 5 January ,
2015. Please join us to start the year
of the goat with the colorful Chinese
music tradition! We will start with the
reception at 18:45 and the concert will
start at 20:15. Please let us know if

Shanghai Chinese Orchestra
The Shanghai Chinese Orchestra (Chi-
nese:上海民族乐团)traditional Chinese
musical instruments based in Shang-
hai,China.It was established in 1952,and
was the first larger scale modern
orchestra of traditional instruments in
China.The orchestra has performed in
more than 80 cities in China, as well as
in more than 30 foreign countries. It
often performs for heads of state and
other dignitaries when they visit China.
In 2001 and 2003 it performed two
Chinese New Year concerts at the
Musikverein
