It uses new blockchain architecture which consists of two layers, an elastic
sharding blockchain (shards) and a root blockchain, that confirm the blocks from
the first layer.
It has anti-centralized horizontal scalability. For example in any blockchain
network with a high TPS, a super-full node can be extremely expensive, which
encourages centralization. In contrast, QuarkChain allows multiple cheap nodes
forming a cluster to replace a super-full node.
QuarkChain will support smart contracts on the Ethereum Virtual Machine
(EVM) to enable future compatibility with existing dApps.
QuarkChain also allows cross-chain transactions. Another blockchain can be
implemented by converting tokens via an adapter.
