- Collaborate with 4 other evaluation research associates from East and West Africa within the
Evaluation and Learning System for Acacia (ELSA); participate in the conceptual work and
development of the ELSA programme strategy within the Acacia programme; coordinate evaluation of
projects in South Africa and Mozambique such as telecentres and community applications of ICT’s;
participate and be involved in data collection, processing and analysis of project evaluation data; travel
in the region covered by the Acacia programme as the need arises; and participate in the preparation of
various evaluation reports.
- As part of my work with Acacia I was asked by Government Communication (GCIS) to assist with
developing the evaluation strategy for the role out of the Multi-Purpose Community Centres. As a result
I sat on the National Inter Sectoral Steering Committee as well as on the Research Task team.
• Graduate Assistantship:
- Topics covered: Introduction to SPSS; the analysis of categorical data and the chi-square test;
statistical power theory; the logic of analysis of variance; one-way analysis of variance; factorial
analysis of variance; test construction; reliability, testing test items; distribution-free tests; choosing
suitable statistics.
- Tutoring: I have tutored the quantitative methods module of the Psychology 301 course as part of my
training. This involves a 3-hour session with 20 students, going over topics covered; going over
homework; as well as marking homework every week.

- Topics covered: An introduction to organisational theory and the evolution of management;
organisational re-engineering; assessment centres and selection practices in South African
