SUMMARY:
Over 18 years of computing experience with concentration in database administration/development and
Web administration/development. Experience using Oracle products, MySQL, PHP, MVC frameworks
such as Laravel 5/CakePHP/Zend 2, and content management systems such as Wordpress and Joomla.
Experience with various database/application related development such as developing entity relationship
diagrams, server side programming, application/event driven programming, performance tuning,
backup/recovery plans, etc. Knowledge of creating server instances on services such as AWS and
Rackspace for deploying websites without the need for client maintained hardware/admin resources.
Currently, I’m a consultant working mostly on PHP/MySQL based websites in a LAMP/LEMP
environment for various clients.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• Created a Web app from scratch for a construction management company which allows
their clients transparency into their projects; such as budget, schedule, etc. This site
utilizes Amazon Web Services (AWS), Ubuntu Linux, Nginx, Laravel 5 MVC, PHP, and
of course CSS/Jquery/HTML5. The site also interacts with several REST APIs including
Right Signature, Box, Smartsheet, and AWS.
• Created a fully interactive dating type website application from scratch utilizing Zend2
MVC framework. Designed and created brand new database structure using MySQL.
Developed all server side code (Controllers, Models, etc.) with object oriented PHP
adhering to Zend2’s structure. Worked closely with a remote developer to integrate their
front end views with the back end Controllers/actions and Models.
• Created/Enhanced numerous PHP based apps in a LAMP environment including a sales
time/inventory management tool, a rental equipment management tool (using Google
Maps JavaScript API for equipment location), and an email marketing system (similar to
Constant Contact), among others.
• Developed, deployed, and administered MySQL databases in support of client websites.
• Designed backup/recovery plans for important client MySQL databases using mysqldump
and MySQL binary log files for incremental backups between full dumps.
• Monitored database activity and MySQL slow query logs for the purpose of tuning slow
queries and improving overall database performance.
• Utilized MVC frameworks and content management systems (CMS) such as CakePHP,
Zend2, Wordpress, and Joomla for development of websites.
