BEATS ANTIQUE ON TOUR NOW
PERFORMING TRACKS IN SUPPORT OF THEIR UPCOMING ALBUM
SHADOWBOX , COMING SOON
Fusing musical inspiration from all over the world, Beats Antique joins friends and fellow
band Too Many Zooz as they begin their tour promoting their upcoming ShadowBox
album, as well as their latest hit single and music video “Killer Bee.” Already known for
their unique and experimental performances, Beats Antique plans on incorporating brand
new live aspects to the show never seen before on stage, including innovative uses of
lighting and set design.
As Beats Antique embarks on their fall tour, they continue to gain national and worldwide
attention, more recently from their recent single “Killer Bee.” Antique describes the
message of this track to be “about standing up against prejudices. Just because someone
calls you a killer bee doesn’t mean you need to kill. We want people to define themselves
and not be defined by what people think they should be.” With inspiring lyrics and worldly
musical influences, Antique aims to create a musical space that allows listeners to feel safe
and free during their upcoming fall tour.
The theme of shadow play will be explored and experimented with throughout the
ShadowBox tour. “We wanted to go deeper in the other worlds that light and shadow can
create,” says Antique. Their live performances have always stood out for their, unique set
design, dance performance, crowd interaction and art theater. Antique is creating a brand
new set unique to the ShadowBox tour with new lights and displays to “create an
otherworldly effect through the use of high contrast,” and will feature work of inspiring
artists from Oakland, their hometown. Beats Antique prides themselves in making no two
shows the same, allowing each audience member to be immersed into a concert crafted
uniquely for them, an idea that is no doubt only being furthered on this tour.
The current tour lineup for Beats Antique includes founding members David Satori
(electric saz, viola, guitar, trumpet, percussion), Sidecar Tommy (drums, electronic drums,
keyboards), and Zoe Jakes (dance). This trio will be supported by the talented opening act
- 2. Too Many Zooz, an NYC born brasshouse trio who recently had been spending their time
providing additional instrumentation in the studio for Beyonce’s most recent album.
With the ShadowBox tour already in progress, Beats Antique hopes to continue to exceed
the already high expectations in their stunning live performances. Now that the tour has
finally kicked off, you can catch the band across the U.S. from August all the way until late
October.
