TITLE:’KING-IN’ KIDS SERIES
EPISODE 1-LIGHT UP!!!
CHARACTERS
Joshua (Josh)-(8 year old African American);
Mrs Wiley Josh’s Mother;
Jason-(5 year old Caucasian);
Jeung Yeo (aka Jeyeo) - (6 year old Asian);

Scene 1- OUTSIDE AWAITING THE SCHOOL BUS
Description
Jason and Jeyeo meet Josh in front of his house waiting for their School Bus on
the first day of resumption. Josh greets them excitedly, but got defeated responses
from them. Josh surprised at his friends’ response, probed further to know the cause
of their sadness and encourage them. The bus comes along and they all get in, and
zoom off to school.
Dialogue
Josh :< Waving and grinning > Hi Jason, Hi Jeyeo
JASON :< replies with a sad face> Hi
JEYEO: <looks at the ground with a distant expression>
Josh: <Raises an eyebrow and his shoulders > Jason??? Jeyeo??? How was your
holidays?
JASON :< Raises one shoulder and shakes his head while talking> Holiday was fun, but it’s
Regio. He scares me. He’s big and takes my lunch everydaaaaay! < Closes his eyes
and shakes his head slowly> He’s so-
JEYEO :< Exclaims while Jason is talking>- Not arithmetic again!!! I don’t get it; its sooooo
hard. < heaves a sigh and has a very sad expression>
Josh :< Smiles and turn to face Jeyeo, and puts his arm over her shoulder> Jeyeo, You can
do all things by Christ that makes you strong. Just believe in yourself. You always are
a winner!
<Turns to face Jason, with a playful punch >
Hey Jason, don’t be afraid! You’re God’s kid; your big bro is Jesus, and He’s way
bigger than Regio or anyone else.
Jason :< smirks and shrugs his shoulders> Yeah...
JEYEO :< with a flat voice>...And the bus is here...

2. Camera fades out on them as they enter the bus and it zooms off to school.
Scene 2 - OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL GATE
Description
The School bus arrives at the school premises; the School bell goes off for
classes to begin as they run into the school waving each other. Jason sees Regio
looking at him. He smirks, and Jason gulps loudly.
Clock shows as it counts down quickly to the end of classes. The bell rings for close of
school. Josh comes out of class excited and waits for Jason and Jeyeo to hear
about their experience in class, and gets a shocker: Jason’s lunch is taken again by
Regio, and gets a beating to make things worse. Jeyeo freaks out cos there’s a quiz
on her most dreaded subject next week. Josh has an idea to help his friends and
invites them to his house. They concede, though not really sure of what Josh is up to,
and get into the school bus which takes them home.
Dialogue
Jason: <talks muffled> He did it again!!!
Josh: <turns with a surprised expression> whaaaaaa??........aaaawwww
<Close up shot on Jason’s beaten face.>
Jason: <with tears falling down his face > he took my lunch! I’m hunnnnngry!!!
Josh: <heaves a heavy sigh, and puts his hands around Jason’s shoulder>
Jason: <sobs> it’s not fair, it’s so not-
Jeyeo: < interrupts angrily with an exclamation while walking to meet with Jason and Josh> I
CANT DO IT! Arithmetic quiz is next Monday!! <Sobbing>
Jason<in a croaky voice>: Looks like you had a bad day too...
Jeyeo<gasps as she sees Jason’s bruised face>: Yours was pretty worse than mine!
<touches Jason’s jaw gently> who did this to you?!
Jason <flinching in pain>: Big bully Regio...
Jeyeo:<has a shocked expression and throws her hands in the air> WHAT!?! WHY WOULD
REGIO DO THAT?? THAT’S NOT FAIR!!
(Camera fades out on Josh and Jeyeo consoling Jason as he sniffs)
(Camera fades back on Josh as he heaves a heavy sigh, shakes his head slowly,
then suddenly his face lights up as he gets an idea.....)
Josh: <exclaims > let’s go to my house!
(Jason and Jeyeo look at each other)
Josh: <talks excitedly>We could play games! What do you say?
Jason: <with a blank face > ummm...okaaaay

3. Jeyeo: < still looking sad> oookie.
(The School bus arrives. Camera fades out as school bus leaves the scene.)
Scene 3 - OUTSIDE JOSH’S HOME
Description
They all arrived at Josh’s home: Jeyeo and Jason’s plan is to have fun and
perhaps play some games, but Josh had a much better plan for his friends. Mrs Wiley
is outside tending the Garden.
DIALOGUE
Josh: <happily exclaims> its SOOOOOO good to be home! Good Afternoon mom!
Mrs Wiley: <smiles at Josh> Welcome Sweetheart. How’s school today?
Josh: Great!
Mrs Wiley :< faces Jason and Jeyeo> And who do we have here?
Jason: <smiles> Hello Mrs Wiley
Jeyeo: < bows her head slightly to greet >Hello Mrs Wiley
Mrs Wiley: Jason. Jeyeo. Welcome. I’m sure you had a great day at school?
Jason and Jeyeo <just grin in reply>
Mrs Wiley: Alright then! Run along!
Jason and Jeyeo (in Unison): Yayyyy!!!!!!!
<Jason and Jeyeo run into the house>
Mrs Wiley: Josh
Josh: Yes mum?
Mrs Wiley : Is Jason okay?
Josh: He got beaten today by big bully Regio, and he also took Jason’s lunch.
Mrs Wiley: awww....that’s mean! Hope the matter was reported to the authorities?
Josh:< shrugs his shoulders> I dunno.
Mrs Wiley:<chuckles>Hmmm...it is well... I made something special that will put a
smile on his face! He’s going to be just fine, you’ll see! Go on in, I’ll be with you kids in
a moment.
Josh: Ok mum!
<Camera fades out as he runs into the house to meet up with his friends>

4. Scene 4 - INSIDE JOSH’S HOME
Description
Mrs. Wiley is seen in the kitchen dishing out food for the kids. While eating,
Jeyeo asks what’s showing on TV. Josh tells her its pastor Chris, Jason and Jeyeo
wonder who that could be, and Pastor Chris teaching starts teaching on TV. They all
get encouraged and bolder in who they are based on the simple truths shared from
the Bible with Pastor Chris. Mrs Wiley further encourages all of them, teaches them a
song and the kids thank Mrs. Wiley, Jason and Jeyeo then go home.
Dialogue
Josh: <exclaims while waiting for the cookies> I’m hungry!
<Mrs. Wiley walks into the sitting room with a bowl of freshly baked cookies and milk>
Josh: Thanks mum! You're the best!
Jason and Jeyeo (in unison): Thank you Mrs. Wiley
Mrs Wiley: You’re welcome darlings! Dig in
<Mrs. Wiley busies herself with the dishes in the sink>
Jason: this is yummy!!!
<Message theme soundtrack starts playing in the background>
Jeyeo: <turns to face the TV> hey! What’s on TV?
Josh: <Josh laughs at how Jason gobbles up the cookies and milk, apparently not hearing
what Jeyeo said >HA HA HA HA HA HA! You’re pretty hungry Jason!
Jason:<mouth full of cookies> Yup!
Jeyeo: <raises her voice as the music theme increases in volume> What’s on TV Josh?!
Jason: Best cookies ever.........
Josh: <turns to face the TV and exclaims> it’s Pastor Chris!
Jason and Jeyeo :< look at each other then Josh curiously> WHOOO?
Josh: <with a wide grin and a singing tone> show’s started!!
Pastor Chris: < Camera zooms slowly to the TV as they turn to face it> Matthew 5:14: “Ye
are the light of the world...a city that's set on a hill cannot be hid. Ye are the light of
the world.”
Pastor Chris: <Cut to close up on Josh as he smiles and watches > this is a statement of
the Master Jesus Christ. He said it with force, He said it with power. What a
statement.
Pastor Chris: <Cut to close up on Jason as he slowly chews with his eyes glued to the TV
set> He’s saying, “You are the light of the world, I didn’t put you under a basket. I put
you on a lamp stand.”

5. Pastor Chris: <cut to close up on Jeyeo as she ponders on what was said, then looks back
to the TV set> Psalms 27: 1...what does it say...? “The Lord is my light and my salvation,
whom shall I fear? The Lord is my light and my salvation,
<Cut to camera close up on Jason as he repeats the words>whom shall I fear?
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
<Cut to camera close up on Jeyeo as she repeats the words with her eyes on the set>whom
shall I fear?
<Cut to the TV screen>...Oh God, the Lord is my light...!!!...Let’s read the next verse”
<Cut to wide shot showing everybody watching, and as Mrs Wiley walks into the sitting room,
and sits on a sofa to watch quietly>
“The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?”
<Cuts to TV screen>
Pastor Chris: That means He’s my salvation, so no matter where I find myself, I am
saved; because He is my salvation.
<Camera shot on Josh as he glances towards Jason’s direction with a raised eyebrow and a
smile>
<Cut to camera shot on Jason’s profile as he faces the screen and turns to look at the
camera i.e. Josh > I come out of trouble because the Lord is my salvation. He walks in
me; the very saviour is in me. Halleluiah!
Pastor Chris: Say I am the light of the world,
Mrs. Wiley <Cut to camera showing Mrs. Wiley repeating the words> I am the light of the
world.
<Cut back to TV> everywhere you are, you are the light of the world,
Josh and Jeyeo < points to Jason and repeats the words> you are the light of the world,
Josh and Jason <points to Jeyeo and repeats the words> you are the light of the world,
<Cut to Camera shot shows an arm on Josh’s shoulder, as he turns, cuts to close up on Mrs
Wiley as she repeats the words to her son> you are the light of the world.
<Camera zooms out slowly as the end credits roll up>
Jason :< sticks his chest out> Jesus is in me, so I’m not gonna be scared of
anyone...not even Regio!
Josh: <smiles and nods>that’s it!
Jeyeo: <smilingly says>And if God isn’t hiding me in a basket, then I won’t hide from
sums.
Josh :< smile widens> Cool!
Mrs Wiley: You know, when you have the Holy Spirit in you, you can’t help but shine
cos the light of God shines through you. Just like the sun. Imagine what will happen
when you stand and say every day, “I am the light of the world”. Whether you’re in
your room or in school friends may laugh at first or shove you aside; you’ll begin to

6. notice that your classmates will come asking you for help, needing answers to
questions. Why? Cos you’re shining like the sun.
Jason:<smiling and looking dreamily> Hmmmm.....
Jeyeo :< with sparkling eyes> So I have all it takes....?
Mrs. Wiley: ...To light your world.
Mrs. Wiley :< singing> Light your world/Let the light of God shine through/ Light your
world/ in the little things you do/and though your light may be/Reaching only two or
three/Light your world (Rpt song 2ce)/Light your world (2x)
<on singing the song the second time, the kids join in with camera shots cutting to
the kid characters individually, then on everybody singing, last repetition of the last
line ends with the camera showing Mrs. Wiley>
Jason: Thanks Mrs. Wiley! I light the world like the sun! WOW! I will never be scared
again!
Jeyeo: (glances at her watch): Oh my! It’s late! Got to do those sums! Thanks for the
food and the song Mrs. Wiley! Thanks Josh! It was COOL !
Mrs. Wiley: Glad to have you Jeyeo. Bye!
Josh: Bye Jeyeo!
Jeyeo: Bye! Jason, we have to go!
Jason: Okay! Bye Mrs. Wiley! Josh, see ya!
Mrs. Wiley: Bye
Josh: Bye Jason!
<Jeyeo and Jason leave the house through the back door>
Mrs. Wiley: <plays with Josh’s hair>Nice friends you have.
Josh: yeah....
Mrs. Wiley<tickles him playfully>: Come now! You need to wash up from all that dirt!
Josh <laughs and tries to escape his mum’s grasp>: MOOMM! I’M CLEAN!!!!
<Camera shot views them from the window and then pans up to the clouds>
Scene 5 – SALVATION CALL
Description
The End shows up on the screen, but Josh pokes his head from the edge of the screen, runs
up to the text, looks at it, and kicks it out of the screen, then talks to the camera, giving the
opportunity for kids to make Jesus their Lord and Saviour, leads them to salvation, and gives
contact for kids to reach the ministry saying that they have given their lives to Jesus Christ.
Dialogue:

7. Josh: THE END?!! <Runs to the text and kicks it out> No way!
You can’t go!
<Facing the screen>
I hope you got a thing or two from what pastor Chris said, cos I did, a lot!
But you may ask “how do I light my world?” “Will it work?” a big YES!!
In John 14vs 6 Jesus says He is ‘the way, the truth, and the life, and no one can come to the
Father but by him’, and Rom 10 verses 9 says ‘if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be
saved’
All you have to do is believe in your heart that Jesus died and rose again from the grave,
and say it out from your mouth that Jesus Christ is now Lord of your life!
Are you ready?
Just Close your eyes and say after me, and you have to mean it:
Dear Jesus,
I believe
That you died for me,
And rose again,
On the third day.
And I confess today
That you are the Lord
Of my life.
Thank you Jesus,
I'm born again!
And I will forever be yours,
In Jesus name,
Amen.’
If you just said that prayer and meant it, hurray! Your father is God, and your big brother is
Jesus!
