  1. 系統儘可能的及時響應。響應是可用性和實用性的基石，不止如此，響應也意味著問題能夠被快速檢測並有效處理。響應式系統專注於提供快速、一致的響應時間，並通過建立可靠的上限來提供一致的服務體驗。這種一致的行為反過來簡化了錯誤處理，增強了最終用戶的信心，激發了更進一步的互動。
  2. 系統在面對故障時仍保持響應。這不僅適用於高度可用的關鍵任務系統，任何非彈性系統面對故障時將會變得響應遲鈍。彈性是通過冗餘（replication），遏制（containment），隔離（isolation） 和 委託（delegation） 實現的。故障被遏制在各個組件內部，各個組件相互隔離，因此確保只有部分系統故障和恢復而不會損壞整個系統。每個組件的恢復委託給另一個（外部）組件處理，高可用性通過在必要的地方做冗餘複製來實現。組件的客戶端不必為組件的故障背負處理的職責 錯誤種類 software ，hardware、connection
  3. 因此響應式系統會更加靈活、鬆耦合、可伸縮、容錯，具有更即時的反應能力。
