Project Experience
Triton Transfer
Designed and implemented a distributed file sharing system that relies on RPC which used Apache-Thrift framework. The
file sharing system supports download and upload operations between client and server. Two kinds of servers were
implemented, the metadata sever stores all the meta-information of the files and the block servers store and serve out data
blocks. Each data block was stored in multiple block servers to keep the system reliable.
Nachos OS memory management improvements
Implemented methods to enable physical memory allocation and virtual/physical address translation.
Implemented the demand paging mechanism in memory manage system. As a result the operating system can handle
TLB misses in a more efficient and effective way.
Robot Army Animation
Generate a 3D robot army using OpenGL. The background environment was built using the depth map and skybox.
Scene graph was used to manipulate the action of the robots. Glowing and particle effects were added to the animation to
make it fancier.
ZENO (Live stream gathering website)
Implemented a website which allows user to watch live streams of multiple platforms. Live streams are properly classified
into different categories according to their contents. The information was gathered by XPath using crawler. PHP and
MySQL were used to filter appropriate entries.
