3. And Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik rushed to AIIMS to pay his last tributes to the
Former Prime Minister who was considered one of the country's most respected
political personality.
4. Chief Minister Mr.Patnaik said “It is a great national loss today as much as a
personal loss for me. I will always cherish my association with Mr.Atal Bihari
Vajpayee Ji especially during my initial years of politics”.

6. Mr.Patnaik said that “he was embodied a unique combination of grace, idealism
and tolerance in Politics”.

depth of vision and understanding of issues was unparalleled. A Man of firm
principles and idealistic poet. It is truly the end of an era…Vajpayee Ji had a large
heart with special corner for Odisha-a love that was equally reciprocated by the

Mr.Patnaik.

said a notification of the Department of Home.
9. Mr Vajpayee, the BJP's tallest leader, was admitted to AIIMS on June 11 with a
urinary tract infection and chest congestion.
10. A statement issued by AIIMS said his condition had been deteriorating over the
last 36 hours and he was put on life support systems.
"Despite the best of efforts, we have lost him today at 5.05PM," said AIIMS.
