2. Responsibility Defined
1. the state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of
having control over someone.
3. Where I’ve had responsibility
We all have responsibility in our lives that we often overlook. This personal responsibility often
leads you great life skills that help us in life. Since I was young I’ve been encourage by my family
to take tasks on for my self, and this has really helped me in the following ways:
• Many years in college = good study habits
•Years of working and tuning my own car = good mechanical knowledge
•Living alone = good self preservation and money management
•Caring for pets = care taking
4. Responsibility at work
At work you find your self more responsible than almost anywhere else. I’ve had several jobs over
the years, so here are a few was I found myself being held responsible:
•M&C Farms: Tasked with caring for livestock
•Short Stop Pizza: Giving prompt service and a good dining experience
•ZenGenius-visual design: Performing various tasks with little guidance or supervision
•ParkOps Valet: Handling people’s automobiles, one of their largest cash investments
5. My Biggest Project
The most responsibility I’ve ever been tasked with while “on the job” was while I worked for
ZenGenius. I had worked there for about 6 months when they asked me to help out on a big
project. The Victoria’s Secret store at the Easton shopping center was being closed and emptied
so they could move to a new location. What started as me just helping turned into me managing
a group of movers, telling them what to move and to where. I hadn’t intended for it to happen,
but I had to step up and assume responsibility, and I’m glad I did.
