Physics Resume
Current Status
Recent Physics graduate, obtained my B.S. in Physics with an emphasis on nuclear
physics. I am continuing to do research and am writing a paper that I wish to publish. I
worked with the UC Davis Nuclear physics group under Professor Manuel Calderon de
la Barca Sanchez, doing simulations of Z+jet events. Relevant coursework: numerical
analysis, analytical problem solving using computational methods, extensive problem
solving, abstract problem solving, and data analysis.
Career Goals
With a B.S. in Physics with an emphasis in nuclear/particle physics under my belt, I am
now taking 2 years off to work and to publish a paper. I am going to go back to graduate
school after my two year hiatus. Thereafter I will seek a job in research, whether that be
with a national laboratory, at a university or in private industry.
Education
20092012 Norco Community College (NCC), CA
Community college directly from high school, physics major with the intention to
transfer to a UC. Studied basic general education and math. Relevant
Coursework:: differential equations, linear algebra, calculus.
20102012 Riverside City College (RCC), CA
Attended RCC and NCC congruently: attending chemistry and calculus based
physics courses while employed parttime at two jobs. Studied fundamental
physics and chemistry i.e. classical mechanics, electromagnetism,
thermodynamics, optics and waves, 3 semesters of basic chemistry.
20122015 University of California, Davis
Studying physics with coursework and research.
Experience | Physics
Have completed over two years of research and continue to research with professor Manuel
Calderon and graduate students. Four research presentations: Undergraduate Research
Conference at UC Davis in 2013 and 2014, one being a poster and the other being an
powerpoint, also I have presented at the American Physical Society in 2013, a powerpoint, and
most recently went to the Division of Nuclear Physics Conference in Hawaii to present a poster
in late 2014. Computer programming for research and coursework, have used C, C++, ROOT,
Pythia, Fastjet, Labview, Arduinos, FPGA’s.
Experience | Tutoring
Tutored AP physics, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus I, AP Calculus II, Calculus, Physics,
Prealgebra, Algebra, Algebra2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, SAT, ACT, MCAT test
prep, also written syllabi, quizzes, tests, and lesson plans and labs. Been tutoring since 2012.

Work Resume
Current Status
Obtained Physics B.S., with my researching being on heavyion physics with the Nuclear
Physics Group at UC Davis.
Previous/Current Work
20092012 Albertsons, Corona CA
Albertsons is a grocery store in southern California similar to Safeway. I worked
as a Grocery Clerk/General Merchandise Clerk, cashier and bagger. Also worked
the forklift and unloaded trucks.
2012present Tutoring, Davis California
Tutor for math and science.
2012present Research, UC Davis
Analysis of Z+Jet collisions using simulations to study jet quenching.
2015present Officemax
Sales consultant, work in the tech department, as a cashier and stocking shelves
temporary job, looking to replace.
Experience
● Tutoring for 3 years, I learned how to work with children and adults alike. Being able to
describe complicated concepts in multiple different ways is a very helpful skill when
working on a team and dealing with others.
● I have also done research with the Nuclear Physics Group for three years. Here I had to
learn all of the high energy particle physics jargon and work my way up the chain. This
experience was invaluable in multiple ways; one way is that there were no strict
deadlines so I had to learn how to be responsible and do work on my own schedule.
● Writen dozens of research updates, and been to four research conferences.
● Learned how to program and write complicated algorithms to simulate particle collisions.
● Wrote and optimized C++ code.
● Data analysis and debugging skills
● Used forklift frequently
● Know how to communicate and work with a team in any environment.
