What is the American Dream?

What impact does the American Dream have on immigrants?
Immigrants face countless dilemmas in this new world, including
language barriers, discrimination, and unfamiliarity with a brand new
culture. Migrants of New York (MONY) is an interactive event designed
by 9 high school students from TRC’s Community Service Learning
Program (CSLP). At MONY, you are able to step inside the story of an
immigrant. Fun activities and games with unexpected outcomes are based
on categories such as education, jobs, healthcare, and housing; your
decisions and choices will heavily influence your life in this immigrant
simulation. Stories told and stories untold, stories familiar to your parents
and their experiences, stories that will bring to life the journeys and risks
of those dear to you -- experience them all here.
Charles B. Wang Community Health Center is a non-profit, federally qualified health center.
Founded in 1971 the CBW’s mission is to be a leader in providing quality culturally relevant and
affordable health care and education on behalf of the health and social needs of the underserved
Asian American Community.
The Teen Resource Center is a pediatrics program in the Charles B Wang Community Health
Center. Founded in 2003, the TRC’s mission is to provide information and support to Asian
American youth through health education, programs, activities, and referrals.
Community Service Learning Program is a six month internship in which 8 high school
students serve the Asian American community through non-profit community service, professional
development, and collaborative social research.
