To Whom it May Concern:
Carmon Floreck was referred to the Department Social and Health Services (DSHS), Children’s
Administration by Pacific Mountain Workforce Consortium. This consortium is part of the WorkSource
program of the State of Washington which assists individuals through the Community Jobs Program to enter
or reenter the local work force. I was one of Carmon’s direct supervisors since she began work for DSHS
Children’s Administration on April 24, 2012. During this time, Carmon was taking classes through the
Community Jobs Program that would assist her in finding employment while obtaining work experience
through DSHS Children’s Administration.
Carmon demonstrated a strong work ethic while working for Children’s Administration. Carmon caught on
quickly to any tasks or assignments given to her. She would ask questions if she did not understand
something or when she had concerns regarding what to do with specific documents. She was dressed
appropriately for the job and worked cooperatively with her co-workers. She arrived on time, and if she was
going to be late or not able to come on a specific day, she would contact me or the other supervisor so we
knew what was happening.
The following tasks required a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail as well as strict confidentiality.
Children’s Administration has a project to image 21,500 boxes of case files that are stored in the warehouse.
Carmon’s first job was to help prepare the files for imaging. This task involved removing stables, paper
clips, cutting paper edges on some documents, and copying small pieces of paper so that all documents in a
file would easily flow through high speed scanners. Later Carmon was asked to learn how to research
information in the DSHS Children’s Administration Case Management Information System. This required
finding a particular social security number in the paper case file, and then entering this number into the Case
Management Information System. After the case file number was found, the case file number was entered
on a bar code cover sheet so the file could be imaged. Because computer skills, Children’s Administration
asking Carmon to more and different task using the Case Management Information System. Recently,
Carmon was shown how to redact electronic files so the documents could be printed and then given to the
requested who is seeking information from their closed case file.
If I had a full time position, I would be interested in hiring Carmon for the position. As one of Carmon’s
supervisor, I enjoyed working with her. If you need more information about Carmon,
You may contact me at 360-902-0279.
Sincerely,
