2. Bed Bug Heat Treatment
At Capital K9, we use Pest Heat, which is one
of the best, effective ways to completely get
rid of bed bugs and their eggs – best of all, it
works in just one easy treatment.
The science isn’t too complex, either: when bed
bugs are exposed to temperatures exceeding 122
degrees Fahrenheit, the bugs die almost instantly.
In fact, it only takes about one minute.
3. One Day, One Treatment
Our Pest Heat treatment is a one day, one
treatment solution for your bed bug issues. Leave
your home to us in the morning and come
home from work in the evening no longer
having to worry about bed bugs.
Alternatively, chemical bed bug treatments are
generally two or three treatments over the course
of several weeks – that’s a lot of time to worry
about bed bugs in your home.
4. It’s Effective
Our Pest Heat treatment is highly effective and
works in the most difficult of situations. An
advantage to heat is that it can get into the areas
in your home that the chemicals simply cannot
reach – such as inside mattresses, box
springs, and sofas. Further, bed bugs do not have
a resistance to heat, whereas some bed bugs
have developed resistance against some
chemicals.
5. Keep Your Belongings!
Our Pest Heat treatment allows you to keep your
belongings. With some treatments, your
belongings need to be thrown away – not with
heat treatment!
Save money in the long run by not worrying about
purchasing new belongings.
6. It’s Green
The Pest Heat process is completely
green, which is particularly important to many
people who have health concerns, small children
or pets.
Most clients opt to include chemicals in the heat
process (for no additional cost) for an additional
layer of protection, but that decision is completely
up to you.
7. No Need to Prepare
Our Pest Heat process involves a lot less
preparation for you! Don’t feel the need to pre-
wash all of your clothing and bedding, and while
there is some preparation prior to the treatment
(click here for our pretreatment checklist) it is
minimal compared to other treatment options.
9. The three components of a
successful heat treatment are:
Heat Source: We use a Pest Heat TPE500. Our heater is kept
completely outside of the structure and the heat is piped in using large
Mylar tubes. Our process allows us to reach optimal temperatures
quickly without drawing from your electricity, saving you money.
Movement of Air: We use specially designed high-speed fans to
circulate the air in your home. The flow of air creates convection heat,
which allows us to achieve and maintain optimal temperatures.
Monitoring of Temperatures: We place temperature probes throughout
the home and use a software program that allows us to continually track
the temperatures. This data is recorded and continually reviewed to
ensure that we met and maintained proper temperatures during the heat
treatment.
10. How much does a heat treatment
cost?
Every job is different and the cost for the job
depends on the size of the home, the level of
infestation and whether we will be able to
effectively move air in the home. The best way to
get an exact price is to have a technician come
out and give you a free estimate. We will do all
we can to make this cost-effective for your
family.
Additionally, we offer financing to make this
service fit within most budgets.
11. Warranty Information
We offer one of the best warranties in the
industry. We warrant our work for three whole
months from the date of the heat
treatment. We will also come back to your home
a few weeks after a heat treatment with one of
our bed bug detection dogs. If the dog detects the
presence of bed bugs or if you have seen a bed
bug following a heat treatment, we will retreat at
our expense.
