To Whom It May Concern:
Mr. Calvin Gibbs provided a Public Speaking workshop to the teachers of Village
Leadership Academy on Friday, January 23, 2015, that was nothing short of
informative, detailed, and well presented. What is important to consider is that
the manner by which he facilitated took into account the human side of public
speaking; we all experience fear and anxiety when speaking to a group, even
for those seasoned professionals. The use of interactive learning experiences
was especially valuable because it gave the teachers the opportunity to
practice their newfound knowledge in an environment that was comfortable
and the feedback would be nurturing.
Here at VLA, we appreciate Mr. Gibbs and the time that he took to work with
our teachers, as well as the suggestions that he provided to shape our students
into better public speakers. The techniques that he taught can be easily
integrated into the classroom, and will assist in building the quality of our
Grassroots Campaign Presentations.
