CRDAV (Centro Ricerca e Documentazione Arti Visive) - Rome's Visual Arts Research & Documentation Centre - was founded in 1979. Hosting a 70,000 volumes strong contemporary art library, a photo-archive, a large grey literature archive about contemporary artists, and a historical section with the private archive of Futurist artist Enrico Prampolini (1894-1956), CRDAV can be considered one of the main resources for contemporary art research in Rome. Attached to the MACRO Contemporary Art Museum, its library and archives are generally open on appointment only CRDAV's documentation services have been headed from January 2012 to Fall 2015 by Dr. Alessandro Califano.
