Have your say on QLD housing
The Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works has released the ‘Working
together for better housing and sustainable communities’ discussion paper.
What’s the discussion paper about?
The discussion paper is intentionally broad ranging and is organised around three key
themes – these are:
Building housing and communities that maximise economic and social wellbeing,
and are sustainable;
Improving access to housing; and
Creating a single homelessness and housing assistance system.
The purpose of the discussion paper is to seek feedback on a range of housing issues,
such as social housing, home ownership and retirement options. This feedback will be
used to assist the Government in developing a 10 year housing strategy for Queensland.
The discussion paper is available on the Queensland Government’s website
(www.qld.gov.au/housing).
How can I have my say?
The closing date for submissions is 20 May 2016.
Responses to questions within the discussions paper may be emailed to
housingstrategy@hpw.qld.gov.au or posted to the Housing Strategy Team, GPO Box
690, Brisbane QLD 4001.
The Government is also running a number of community engagement sessions and there
will be a Gold Coast session on 1 June 2016 at the Vibe Hotel. Further details are
available at www.qld.gov.au/housing.
