* Under Oregon Motor Voter (OMV), the Secretary of State sends a mailer to
potential new voters identified from data retrieved from the Oregon DMV. The
mailer allows the potential new voters 21 days to decide to opt out, select a
political party, or become registered automatically as a nonaffiliated voter.
"Matured OMV Mailers" are those where the 21 day period to return the card has
expired giving the individual the full 21 days to make their decision. Cards
returned after the 21 day period are also honored and the individual's wishes are
followed when the Secretary of State receives the card.
