1. Purple Mascara: A Trend To Try!
Have you ever tried purple mascara? Changing up your mascara shade, is a great way to
enhance your eyes, and add an “on trend” makeup look to your appearance! I had fun with this
volumizing, purple mascara from YSL and purple, or violet shades, never go out of style! Purple
mascara is a great color that looks good on brown, blue, and green eyes, pretty much everyone!
I wanted to play up this purple mascara look, so I went for a Bohemian Look using the “Body
Rock” body tattoo’s for an extra touch of “style!”
The YSL Volumizing Mascara, in Violet ($30) is fabulous! First of all, the mascara brush is very
basic. It is very comparable to the L’Oreal Voluminous mascara which works great on my short
stubby lashes, that dont have much fullness.
The formula itself, is amazing. It is very fluid, and does not clump. This mascara formula is a
little more fluid than the L’Oreal Voluminous. The formula reminds me of MAC’s Zoon Lash
mascara. It doesn’t flake, or clump and was easily removed with a gentle eye makeup remover.

2. WHAT IT CLAIMS TO DO: “Yves Saint Laurent MASCARA VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS
Luxurious Mascara achieves an intense, dramatic lash look in a single stroke, for lashes that
stop traffic with the blink of an eye. Its secret is the Triple-Film Complex: a film-coating for
intensity, a conditioning film for curve, and a fixing film for long-lasting effectiveness.”
HOW IT WORKS: ”Starting at the root of the lashes, sweep the mascara brush upwards to the
tips, going from the inner to the outer corner of the eye. Remove any excess mascara from the
brush before applying to the lower lashes. The brush applicator combines nylon fibers of varying
diameters for luxurious volume enhancement as never before.”
WHAT IT DOES: The mascara volumizes and thickens your lashes- no doubt. The purple
shade can be work with any eyeshadow colors because it is the perfect shade of purple and
rich, high pigment. The formula does not smear, streak and it does not clump. The brush is very
basic but grabs just enough mascara for that perfect application.
MY RESULTS: Even though I have extensions on in the photo, this mascara gave me added
volume, fullness and thickness! The mascara does do all it claims- no doubt! The YSL
Volumizing mascara comes is several different, beautiful shades. My only complaint is that it
does run you a steep $30. However, I am still in search for a great DUPE of this mascara and
have yet to find one that is this nice and luxurious- in a color formula- other than black or brown.
If I do find a great DUPE, you guys will be the first to know! Overall, the color is super rich in
pigment and if you are looking for a great colored mascara that will not give you any issues- this
is one I would certainly purchase, again!
WHAT I DISLIKED: The price- $30
WHAT I LOVE: All the YSL mascara pigments are so rich in color- they go with any eyeshadow
look! I love the formula and it makes mascara easy to apply without streaking, or clumping and
gives me volumizing results and lots of thickness!
