Brandy Mattingly is a 20-year-old student pursuing her education and career goals in nursing and healthcare. She has been attending Midlands Technical College full-time since 2014 and will complete her Certified Nursing Assistant course in July 2015. Quickjobs Scholarship paper- Brandymmattingly
1. My name is Brandy Mattingly and I am twenty years old. I graduated from Airport High
School in 2014. I started continuing my education by attending Midlands Technical College in
the Fall of 2014, and then continued in Spring, taking at least 12 credit hours each semester. I
also have attended classes this summer and will be completing the Certified Nursing Assistant
course through the Boost program on July 24, 2015. I will be receiving my pin on August 5th
2015, and then continuing classes in this upcoming fall semester.
I do get assistance from the lottery, but I do not receive any other financial aid and I’m
currently unemployed. Therefore the remainder of my tuition, books, other fees and materials are
being covered through student loans. If awarded this scholarship, it will allow me to go into the
Patient Care Technician program where I will be able to accomplish the goal and my desire to
assist with helping people to get well or be able to function on their own. This scholarship will
also take a big burden off of me not having to worry about how I’m going to repay my student
loans. I will complete my Nursing 102 course on July 24, 2015. Once I complete this course I
will be eligible to sign up to take the state board exam to become a Licensed Nursing Assistant.
Upon the completion of the exam, I plan to apply for jobs as a Licensed Nursing Assistant and
continue my education further. I would be ever so grateful to be awarded this scholarship to
continue my education and start the Patient Care Technician program.
This scholarship for the Patient Care Technician program will be a great way to help me
learn, earn other certificates and have additional job opportunities. I will become more
marketable to the medical field and most importantly, I will have a career that I love. By
becoming a Patient Care Technician I will be able to have a great profession with the
responsibility of helping others in need. After I have earned my Patient Care Technician
certificate I plan to apply for jobs at a local hospital, extended care facilities or become a Patient
Care Technician in the private sector for individuals that is in need of my help. This scholarship
will allow me to receive an enhanced education as well as assisting me to become an adult that is
self-sufficient in a career that I love.
As I go to school this fall, I plan to work as a Nursing Assistant. Hopefully I will relieve
this scholarship and start the Patient Care Technician program. After completing the Patient Care
Technician program and earn my certificates, I plan to apply for another field within the program
I completed to gain additional experience. My ultimate goal would to become a Patient Care
Technician in a hospital environment working with infants. This would be the most rewarding
career I could ever wish for.
