The purpose of the present document is to provide a character reference for Mr. Gergely Biro whom I have known as a student at
Semmelweis University and also as a player and basketball coach at the Kaszások basketball Club Academy. I have known Gergely for
over ten years now. I first met him in his first year at Semmelweis University, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences,
Department of Sport Games (Bachelor of Science in Basketball Coach). As a student, Gergely was hard-working and highly committed
to his education. Outgoing, and always willing to help someone out, Gergely was very popular with his fellow students. He is a loyal,
honest, considerate, and supportive individual who has the ability to see and understand things from another person's perspective.
He first joined the Kaszások Basketball Club Academy as a player when I was the Head Coach of the team. After finishing his career as
a basketball player he remained at the Kaszások basketball Club Academy as a coach and has been working there for over five years.
His current responsibilities include coaching three different age groups: players between 6 and 12 years (girls and boys); the boys’
team of 12-year olds; and the junior boys’ team aged 16-17. As a coach Gergely is very reliable, he takes his responsibilities seriously,
his players look up to him. He is a good communicator, he brought original, strategic thinking to the practices and often has challenging
ideas. All in all, I would have to say that Gergely Biro is a fine, well-balanced person with numerous positive qualities.
The reason I find Gergely a good candidate for the program is because he has shown an excellent understanding of the basketball
coaching profession and he is also very enthusiastic about learning new approaches of the game. I hope that his experiences abroad
will help him to become an even better coach and motivator.
