2. Who is Experian ProtectMyID?
Experian is one of the nationâs three major credit reporting agencies
that holds almost every consumer's credit information. Their bureau
has been in business for several years and they have established
themselves to be one of the best. Experian jumped on the identity
theft protection bandwagon about 4 years ago. Over that time,
their product has been able to evolve and position itself as a top
service along with other major companies like LifeLock and Identity
Guard.
3.
4. Experian has one product plan for $15.95 which is a little more than
the average price for identity theft protection. Among several,
major data breach attacks such as Target and Neiman Marcus, those
companies chose to work with ProtectMyID to provide their
consumers with the protection and restoration services they may
need.
Since Experian is a major credit bureau, identity theft protection is a
natural transition for them since they have the basic technology to
detect any potential fraudulent financial activity to someoneâs
identity. Customers can be assured that ProtectMyID has the proper
technologies in place.
5. Experian ProtectMyID has one of the best insurance policies in place.
With a great insurance provider and a enough money allotted for lost
income/wages, any person should feel financially secure if ever
becoming a victim to identity fraud.
They oïŹer their customers internet scanning of private information,
national change of address monitoring, medical record monitoring,
lost wallet protection and identity theft resolution from Experian
agents. Experian has also earned a Best in Class Call Center award in
2013. In comparison to other credit bureaus, Experian has a
responsive call floor.
6.
7. Experian ProtectMyID is good at anything credit-related, since they
have been involved in the credit industry for decades, but they
would not be able to help consumers detect more sophisticated
forms of identity theft.

10. The fact that Experian ProtectMyID customers have been so
unhappy with their service says a lot. Some may think that big
companies should have systems and processes down, but maybe
Experian canât handle a heavy amount of identity theft protection
customers. Should Experian only stick to credit-related services?
We would like to see ProtectMyID with a higher than average score
in Identity Protection before recommending their service. Also, an
inclusion of an antivirus subscription would increase their security
measures against fraud as well as increase their Overall Score as a
company.

information on the features, benefits and contract commitments

There are many good things about Experian, but because they arenât a
true identity theft protection company we would recommend
consumers exploring other options before signing up with Experian.
You would be able to find a $16/month service with more benefits
somewhere else.
