The document discusses the relationship between prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE), fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), and homelessness. It notes that while some papers from the past have connected homelessness to the secondary consequences of PAE, such as FASD, they rarely directly link PAE or FASD to homelessness. References are provided for 10 sources on topics like the history of foster care among homeless adults with mental illness, FASD and homelessness projects in Canada, and feasibility studies on housing for people with FASD. The document concludes that all efforts to address homelessness will continue to fail until the role of FASD is properly acknowledged and addressed.

Some of the papers I am sending are relevant, but old. So it is
important to see them in context of the nomenclature used
at the time. I am sending two more e-mails. I hope you will
continue this work. Barry
The Washington Report does not specifically use the term
homelessness. But as you will see. It is relevant.
While the secondary consequences of PAE, as described in
the Washington Report and other subsequent papers, relate
homelessness etc to fasd, fasd and pae are rarely related to
homelessness. So, there are many papers etc about the
relationship of fasd to homelessness, but those who manage
and research homelessness generally ignore or downplay the
crucial role of pae and fasd.

Nothing has changed since 2001. No mention of pae In spite
of the connection being made public for many years
No mention of prenatal alcohol exposure or fasd in these
articles, or their references.
All the factors listed in these articles that are related to
homelessness are a consequence of pae.

Homelessness for those with FASD occurs when their
families can no longer cope with them at home.
Or, if they are in care, when the reach the age that excludes
them from care, usually 18 years.
All efforts to reduce homelessness will continue to fail until
they are done in the context of fasd. Governments,
professionals and the public cannot plead ignorance.
