These are non-surgical hair pieces solutions that offer an instant fix to

3. Specifications of Toupee
Toupees are made with various types of base structures and in many different
connotations, so it is very important to select the correct base for the purpose.
• There are none surgical grafts that are made with a very thin Rubberised
Base. (Not recommended for India.) This has to fitted for the client, using
an adhesive applied to whole top section of the clients head. This then stays
glued to the clients head for up to a month. This can cause discomfort and
irritation to the scalp, because of the heat in a hot and humid country.
• There are Swiss Lace Toupees that are made from fine lace. Because the
base is very fragile, perspiration in hot countries can rot the base very
quickly. Hence this type of base is totally impractical and not recommended
for India.
• The most popular base for hot countries and humid countries like India that
would give the most comfort and ease to wear would be one with a Fine
monofilament base which allows the scalp to breath. The monofilament is a
finely woven, see through base, onto which each individual hair is hand
knotted. This gives the appearance of hair growing from a natural scalp.
Because the monofilament is see through you can see the actual clients
scalp through it, giving the most natural appearance when in place.

Monofilament Hair Pieces are specially designed for those with
severe or total hair loss around the top and crown areas.
Monofilament refers to the type of material that hair strands are
sewn onto. Unlike a cloth material, which can be itchy to those with
sensitive scalps, monofilament material is a thin gauze-like, nearly
transparent material which is much more comfortable to the touch.
Hair strands are attached by hand-knotting them to this
material, one strand at a time, hence the term "mono-filament".
This allows the strands to swivel freely on base and so the
monofilament hair piece is more easily styled. This weaving
technique also creates ventilation. A monofilament wig will breathe
while worn, and this reduces heat and moisture build-up.
It’s biggest advantage is it’s comfort, softness and enabling natural
styling.
5. ….. Monofilament Toupee
The monofilament fabric itself is nearly transparent, and so takes on
the approximate color of one’s own natural scalp, whatever shade
that is. This amazing "chameleon" effect is another plus to the
monofilament wig design. It has been said that a monofilament part
is the most natural looking part in the wig industry, because it bares
the natural scalp color of the wearer.
The edge of the base would have a thin P.U. coating on the
monofilament so that double-sided tape could be used to attach to
the clients head.
When used with clips – which is highly recommended, it can be
removed and replaced again by the client whenever he wishes.
Hence he does not have to wear it 24/7, rather only when he wants
to and otherwise it can be kept in an airy place. Also he does not
have to sleep with it. This is not only hygienic but also scalp
itchiness is eliminated

13. Guidelines for Measurement of Toupee
The first measurement should be across the top of the head from one
side to the other, in line with the ears.
Start at one side where the bald area starts across the top of the head
to the opposite side of the bald area, to where the hair starts on the
opposite side. That is your first measurement. i.e. possibly 7 inches.
The second measurement should be taken inline with the nose from
the front to the back of the head, starting where the Natural Hairline
should be and going over the top of the bald section of the head, to
where the hair starts to grow again at the back. That is your second
measurement. i.e possibly 9 inches.
If a client has thinning hair you would measure in exactly the same way
to find the right size required to cover the thinning area. So you would
measure over the top of the head from ear to ear where the hair is the
thinnest, to where the sides of the hair become a natural thickness
again.

16. Cleaning & Maintenance of Hair Integration System
Step One: Soaking the hair system
Soak the hair system in a plastic or stainless steel container
Step Two: Rinsing & Shampoo the Hair System
Squirt a liberal amount of the best quality of Hair Shampoo and hand wipe the toupee
to ensure any dust or sweat is removed. Rinse your system with high pressure
lukewarm water down through the base. (Repeat this step a second time).
Step Three : Condition the Hair System
After rinsing thoroughly soak the system again, this time using a mild conditioner for
approx 10 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
Step Four : Natural Dry or Blow Dry
Keep the system in an airy place to naturally dry out ready to be used. If need it
urgently use warm hair dryer
Your unit should now be clean and clear of any dust or sweat.
You are now ready to reattach and begin wearing the fresh (like new) system!
17. After Care
One basic principle of Hair Piece care applies to both human and synthetic
Hair Pieces – “Resist the urge to shampoo!”
Depending on certain conditions, a Hair Piece needs shampooing only after
14 days of use if one works or lives in an environment that has a lot of
pollutants in the air, or if one works in a factory or kitchen.
By keeping your scalp clean, removing your Hair Piece when you sleep and
storing it on a wire stand to allow air to circulate thru it, you will reduce the
need to shampoo your Hair Piece.
Treat your piece gently with care
It is essential when combing any Toupee : NEVER to use a sharp comb with
close teeth as they can damage the base. Always make sure that the comb
has smooth wide teeth. Never ever use a metal comb on any hairpiece. It
is far cheaper to replace a comb than a hairpiece. Remember to never dig a
comb into the base as this will damage it.
