High School Stereotypes
I attended a high school that had many “clicks”. These clicks include jocks, foreigners,
hippies, the smart kids, skaters and emo’s. The kids that fit into the jocks section were typically
those students that played sports. All of the football team stayed together and the same went with
the other teams. The students that fit into the foreigners group were foreigners. The school I
attended were a part of a system in which foreign exchange students would attend. My school
would accept upward of five at a time and most of them were of the same nationality allowing
them to be able to speak the same language as one another. I would assume they found comfort
in being able to speak the language they were born to speak with another person that also spoke
the language. The next group of student were hippies. These students were the kids that sold
drugs and smoked weed on the weekends. They would all get together and do drugs. The next
group is the smart kids. The smart kids were all of the student that were competing for the
valedictorian title. Some of these students were athletes of the school but they did not seem to
want to hang out with the nerds at the top of the class with them. The next to last group on the
list is the skaters. These were the kids that would pack their skate boards in their backpacks and
bring them to school. When school as over, they would go to each other’s homes and ride their
skate boards. The last group on this list is the emo’s. They were the kids that, in my opinion,
were the weirdest. They were titled this because of their clothing selection and the lifestyle that
they lived. They would wear all black and even the guys would wear black eye liner to pull off
the look. These were the groups that were present in the high school that I attended.
