2. What is PCP
• This drug was developed in the 1950s originally
meant to be an intravenous anesthetic however,
because of the side effects such as hallucinations,
delirium, and mania, its roll in human medical use
was discontinued in the 1960s.
• PCP is a white crystalline powder
• When PCP is distributed on the drug market it
contains a number of contaminants making the color
of this drug differ
3. How is PCP Used
It is available in a variety of tablets,
capsules, and colored powders,
which are either ingested by mouth
or snorted through the nose
PCP can also be smoked, in which it
is sprayed onto a leafy material such
as mint, or Marijuana.

4. EFFects
• A moderate dose of PCP can often causes users to
feel detached, distant, and alienated from their
surroundings.
• Numbness of limbs, slurred speech, along with loss
of coordination may be accompanied by a sense of
strength and invulnerability.
• PCP can cause anxiety and feelings of impending
doom, the effects continue with paranoia and
violence, and in some, it may produce a psychoses
identical to schizophrenia.
5. Effects (High doses)
• When high doses of PCP are ingested, there is a
drop in blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration
• Following that can be nausea, vomiting, blurred
vision, flicking up and down of the eyes, drooling,
loss of balance, and dizziness
• The most sever effects of a high dose of PCP are
seizures, coma, and even death
• Many believe PCP to be one of the most dangerous
drugs of abuse.

• PCP is addictive and its use often leads to
psychological dependence, craving, and compulsive
PCP-seeking behavior.
• Memory loss, Speech difficulties, accompanied with
depression and weight loss are just a few hazards
against your health.

8. How bad is it?
• The 2010 Monitoring the Future Study or (MTF)
shows that use of PCP by high school seniors has
increased 0.1 percent since 2001, from 1.7 to 1.8
percent
• According to the 2010 National Survey on Drug Use
and Health (NSDUH) the number of PCP users aged
12 or older was at 45,000
• PCP addiction usually comes accompanied with
another type of addiction or condition like Alcoholism
or Schizophrenia.
