Subj: LETTER OF CONTINUITY FOR SERGEANT ARMANDO SAUCEDA
1. I served as the Detachment Officer in Charge (OIC) while
Sergeant (Sgt) Sauceda was attached to DJC2 Platoon as a Cyber
Network Operator for participation in Joint Exercise Balikatan
2013. This letter is intended to record Sgt Sauceda’s
accomplishments and their impact from 25 March 2013 to 29 April
2013.
2. Accomplishments:
a. Served as the Help Desk Noncommissioned Officer In charge
(NCOIC) for 100 users across four networks, Deployable Site
Transport Boundary (DSTB), Secure Internet Protocol Routing
(SIPR), Combined Wide Area Network(COWAN), and Operational
Internet, for 18 days.
b. Ensured the accurate and timely creation of user accounts
for 100 joint and combined users. This directly enabled the US
Forces at Camp Aguinaldo to work hand in hand with their Armed
Forces of the Philippines (AFP) counterparts.
c. Lead and managed the daily actions of (4) Marines and (2)
Soldiers, working closely with the J-6 Operations Chief to
ensure that trouble tickets were closed in a timely manner and
that trends were addressed as soon as they became apparent.
d. Provided daily briefs for the Help Desk Section during
Systems Control (SYSCON) turnover briefs, ensuring that adequate
turnover happened between the day and night Help Desk Section
shifts.
3. Personal Conduct: Sgt Sauceda conducted himself as a
consummate professional throughout the duration of the exercise.
His practical leadership skills directly enabled the
effectiveness of the joint staff of the Help Desk Section.
2. 4. Recommendation: It is my recommendation, based on the
caliber of work he put forth throughout Exercise Balikatan 2013
and assuming it reflects his normal level of conduct, that Sgt
Sauceda receives a Navy Achievement Medal as an end of tour
award.

is needed, I can be contacted at (315) 623-7351 or
