Welcome to Lawrencetown,
Nestled in the beautiful Annapolis Valley
between the North and South Mountains,
and located on the banks of the Annapolis
River, this picturesque village was originally
settled by the Europeans in 1760. Although
Lawrencetown is a rural community, it is
located halfway between the urban centers of
Halifax and Yarmouth (165kms.), giving the
residents easy access to every amenity yet still
maintaining all the privileges of country life.
F o r o v e r 8 5 y e a r s , L a w r e n c e t o w n
has been the home of the Annapolis Valley
exhibition, a premier event that attracts visitors
and participants from all over the Maritimes.
It is a week long event that puts the emphasis
on agriculture and the farming community,
but also incorporates first class entertainment
and artistic displays. The exhibition is held
mid-August and is a definite “must see” on
your summer events schedule.
Lawrencetown residents are very proud of their
community and proved this in November
2011 when they worked together to become
the “First Community in Canada certified by
the Canadian Wildlife Federations Backyard
Habitat Program”.
