1. Scott Anstett is a Northwest based artist and art teacher living and working in
the Seattle area. Scott creates colorful, energetic, and expressive works in vari-
ous mediums, and specializes in acrylic and oil paints. His digital artwork can be
found in publications and web sites in the form of posters, brochures, and logo
designs (visit Creative Educational Experiences for a logo example and consider
donating to their cause).
Scott was born in Tacoma, WA in 1971. While studying the arts and education at
Pacific Lutheran University, Scott worked with colleagues in the Tacoma school
district to establish an arts high school, now known as the Tacoma School of the
Arts (SOTA). After graduating PLU with a BFA in arts and education, Scott pursued
his interests in the fine arts at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Phila-
delphia, PA.
Upon returning to the West coast he directed his passion for art into teaching
young adults and children in the Seattle public schools. Scott and his wife, Kristin,
live in North Seattle. He is currently teaching at Aki Kurose Middle School, located
in the Columbia City neighborhood in Seattle’s beautiful Rainier Valley.
