Ford will install Corning Gorilla Glass hybrid windshields on its 2017 GT supercar that are 30% lighter and 25-50% thinner than conventional windshields. The windshield incorporates existing Gorilla Glass and will be used on both the windshield and rear engine cover, contributing to enhanced handling, improved fuel efficiency, and reduced risk of damage. The 2017 GT will also use specialized glass for the bulkhead panel between the passenger area and engine bay for additional weight savings and performance boosts.
