1. ‘Road Safety - My Choice’ - A Digital Photography Competition
Celebrating the National Road Safety Week declared by the Government of India and
The Decade of Action for Road Safety declared by the United Nations
Organised by: Transport & Travel Wing, RERF and Brahma Kumaris
Objective: To enable one to create a vision of responsible road travel, and share the inspiration with others
in a highly creative manner.
Eligibility: This Digital Photo Contest is open to ALL.
Themes (options-choose any one):
1. I Value Life 2. Ride with Respect 3. My Vision of a Safer World
What to Feature:
1. Striking digital images to celebrate the spirit of responsible road behaviour
2. Images that showcase the important aspects in the context of Road Safety, amongst which could be:
• Promoting Use of Helmets and Seat-Belts
• Don’t Drink and Drive
• Use of Mobile: Don’t Text, Don’t Talk while you are moving on the road and so on
3. Photo captions (Hindi or English) must accompany all submissions, and should be a single sentence
describing the subject of the image
Rules:
1. Photographs must be the original image captured by the contestant, one participant can send in
more than one entry.
2. The participant may select any 1 theme of his/her choice.
3. The final image should be a high resolution image submitted in a ‘*.jpg’ format
4. The file name for the submission may be the ‘name of the participant.jpg’, and be sent to
ttwoffice01@gmail.com on or before 24th January 2014.
5. The entrants should include the following details in their email: Full Name of Contestant, Age, City,
State and Mobile Number and send the photograph as an attachment of the email.
Criteria for Evaluation: Photographs will be judged on originality, theme-based relevance, composition,
overall impact and artistic merit.
WINNING PHOTOS:
• The judging panel will select the best photos based on the criteria for evaluation. The best three
entries will receive a Certificate of Honour, and their creative work will be published in the
fortnightly newsletter - Om Shanti Media, which is circulated to more than 75 thousand subscribers.
The 10 best photos will also receive a copy of the newsletter.
• An image gallery on the website www.bkroadsafety.org will feature a photo album, dedicated to the
photographs filtered by the judging panel.
NOTE: The organizers may use the photographs received as a part of the competition for non-commercial,
online and print publications.
