July 2015 – Present – Research Associate, University of Bath
 Post-doctoral research into sustainable chemistry and energy resilient material manufacture in the
group of Professor Matthew Davidson. Synthesis and characterization of biodegradable polymers
from renewable sources, in supercritical fluid.
 Role includes project design, chemical synthesis and interpretation of analytical data.
 Production of technical reports for our research collaborators and international industrial partners.
 Presentation of results at progress meetings and conferences. Anticipate publication of full article in
the scientific literature in 2016.
 Supervision of two postgraduate students, involving demonstration of experiments, introduction to
analytical techniques, risk assessments, experimental design and technical report writing.
October 2010 – January 2015 – Research Associate and Postgraduate Student, University of Bristol
 Postgraduate study (October 2010 – April 2014) followed by a short postdoctoral contract (April
2014 – January 2015) in the group of Professor Ian Manners FRS.
